- The Department of Veterans Affairs Audie L. Murphy Memorial Hospital, San Antonio, TX, VISN 17, intends to negotiate a sole-source contract with Joint Commission Resource, Inc for an additional 16 hours (2 days) of Mock Surveys and Life Safety Surveyor training days to North Texas Health Care Systems, Central Texas Health Care Systems, and South Texas Health Care Systems for a total of 48 hours/6 days. Texas Valley Coastal Bend will also require an additional 40 hours (5 days) of Mock Surveys and Life Safety Surveyor training days, along with 24 hours (3 days) of individual guidance. Overall, the training will consist of 11 Life Safety Guidance days and 3 Joint Commission Guidance days. CSR and Life Safety guidance teams will perform site visits to each of the specified VISN 17 Health Care Systems primary sites, and Valley Coastal Bend ™s 5 clinic locations, to assess for compliance with Joint Commission standards (Mock Survey). During the visit, teams will provide document review, physical plant assessment and guidance as issues are identified and discussion is warranted. A written report will be developed to describe findings of variance to standards. The NAICS code 541611 with a size standard of $7.0 M. The period of performance for conducting reviews will vary from 3 January “ 22 April 2011. Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii)(A)and(B), only one responsible source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. However, if a firm believes it can meet these requirements it must furnish information about its services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and services, to the Contracting Officer within five calendar days from the date of publication. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement. If no valid responses are received, the South Texas Veterans Health Care System will proceed with the intended sole source contract. Responses must be received no later than 12:00 P.M.
