Description
NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from Vertical Blind Manufacturers, 416Commerce Way STE 120, Longwood, FL 32750.The requirement consist of manual roller shades with added black out shades. All shadeswill be manual with chains. Chains will be on left and right sides. The color is to beblack opaque, Blackout Premier # BP-V40-0, Onyx color with upgraded end controls, dualbolts and full side channel with side channel to be clear anodized. Included in price,will be the removal of exiting brackets and replaced with dual shade bracket, 4 inchFascia and reinstall blackout and side channel. Field Measurement and installationincluded in 18 windows on the west side and 15 windows on the east side of the 4th floor. Window sizes are roughly 50X100. VBM has installed the blinds for the senior management offices located in theHeadquarters Building of KSC. In order to have uniformity with the ones installed, NASAis intending to purchase VBMs modified Lutron blind. The purchases prior were competedas a Lutron brand-name justification, and VBM won those awards. Although severalmanufacturers can provide Lutron blinds, they cannot guarantee full compatibility oftheir products with the modified version of VBM products. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon December 1, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
