Description
FISCN-NNSY Maritime Industrial Branch, Hampton Roads Division, Contracting Department proposes to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the solicitation and subsequent award of a firm fixed-price contract for services to inspect, repair and/or refurbish four (4) each CVN intermediate waterborne shafts in accordance with the requirements of NAVSEA S9243-AW-TRS-011/0203-086-501A (Change D) and document findings in NAVSEA S9243-AW-TRS-012/0203-086-501A. Contractor must be capable of performing in accordance with the requirements of Mil-STD-2191(SH) to include ACN of 23 Mar 2004. Complete specifications/technical standards shall be set forth in the written solicitation. Service facilities shall be capable of supporting a shaft with the following characteristics: 49,000 lbs, 32 ft 2-3/4 inches Length, 44-1/2 inches dia max, 28-1/4 inches nominal. Contractor shall allow for Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) Quality Assurance inspectors to perform required inspections and sign-offs as mandated. Contractor services shall include transportation, disassembly, inspection, repair, refurbishment, reassembly and the provision of required documentation. The first two (2) shafts are projected to be released to the contractor 25 Apr 2011 followed by release of the remaining two (2) shafts on 09 May 2011. Services are required to be complete and shafts returned to NNSY by 25 Jul 2011. This requirement shall be solicited and awarded as a small business set-aside procurement under the provisions set forth in FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. NAICS Code 332710 applies with a small business standard of 500 employees. The anticipated release date for the RFQ (N00189-11-T-N011)is 18 Nov 2010. The date and time for receipt of offers shall be specified in the written solicitation.
