- The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Jacksonville District, is soliciting quotes for the purchase of Silica Sand, Herbert Hoover Dike Toe Ditch, located north of Belle Glade, Florida off of Hooker Highway. The NAICS code will be 212321 Construction Sand and Gravel Mining, size standard is 500 employees. The FSC code will be 9620 Minerals Natural and Synthetic. Solicitation W912EP-11-R-0005 will be posted on FedBizOpps on or about 22 November 2010 and offers will be due on or about 3 December 2010. The title of this solicitation will be Silica Sand, HHD Toe Ditch Fill Material. This acquisition will be a Hub-Zone Set Aside. The Contractor shall provide a total of 13,750 tons of fine aggregate of the material silica sand, composed only of naturally occurring hard, strong, durable, angular, uncoated grains of quartz, meeting the modified gradation requirements of ASTM C 33, section 6.1. The Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to provide silica sand as defined in the Performance Work Statement. A firm-fixed price commercial item contract is considered for this acquisition. The contract award will be for a lump some base year with no options. The estimated magnitude for this requirement is between $250,000 and $500,000. In order to receive notification of any amendments to this solicitation, interested vendors must REGISTER TO RECEIVE NOTIFICATION on the Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. If you are not registered, the Government is not responsible with providing you with notification of any changes to this solicitation. In addition, in order to generate a Plan Holders List, all interested bidders must also REGISTER AS AN INTERESTED VENDOR which is also located on the Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Registration Requirements: DFARS 252.204-7004, Required Central Contractor Registration (CCR), applies to this procurement. You must be registered in the CCR in order to be eligible to receive an award from this solicitation. Information on CCR registration and annual confirmation requirements may be obtained by calling 1-888-227-2423 or via the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov. Prospective contractors must be registered in the Department of Defense CCR database prior to award. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make an offeror ineligible for award.
