- DESCRIPTION: the VA Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source contract with Medrad Inc., 1 Medrad Dr, Indianola, PA 15051, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) FAC 2005-46. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A justification for other than full and open competition is being prepared in support of this acquisition. This procurement is to obtain Intego PET Infusion System and installation for the Radiology department. The system is one of a kind and no other system for infusion is known. Contractors who feel they can respond to this request will have to comply with "Brand Name or Equal" requirements as shown in the attached technical information. Contractors will provided detailed descriptive literature showing their system and all the technical details showing operation. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. All proposals received by 4:00 P.M. Central Time, November 24, 2010, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
