- Special Notice: The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), National Reconditioning Center (NRC) is awarding a Purchase Order for the conversion and repair services of the following equipment: Ring, Elec, Cont (SR) PN: 1213618-201, CAGE: 56232, PN: E2263-00-1, CAGE: 17399, ASN: R400-2A1A2 to Electro-Miniatures Corp. Sole Source Justification: The Government only knows of one source, Electro-Miniatures Corp., who has the facilities, procedures, and expertise to assure the successful and timely repair of the equipment. The Government does not have specifications or any adequately detailed information to solicit a bid from another vendor. Market research is the following: Multiple searches of the Small Business Administration (SBA) Dynamic Small Search failed to identify any additional small business available to compete for this required repair service. Search parameters included a combination of NAICS code ‘811219' and key words: ‘convert, NEXRAD, slip ring assembly, 4-port to 3-port'; and just key words: ‘convert, NEXRAD, slip ring assembly, 4-port to 3-port'; and ‘convert, slip sing assembly, 4-port to 3-port'. A search of 'convert NEXRAD slip ring assembly from 4-port to 3-port'; and 'convert slip ring assembly from 4-port to 3-port' in GSA's eLibrary retuned zero matches. A sources sought was posted on FedBizOpps on October 30, 2010 for a 10 day posting and no responses were received.
