Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), with ANSYS, INC. 275 Technology Drive Southpoint, Canonsburg, PA 15317. for software maintenance renewal for the period of January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011. 1) ANSYS Multiphysics TECS (License Type: TECS/Annual, Gaithersburg, MD 208701) 2) ANSYS Mechanical TECS (License Type: TECS/Annual, Gaithersburg, MD 208701) 3) ANSYS Geometry Interface for Inventor/MDT TECS (License Type: TECS/Annual, Gaithersburg, MD 208701) 4) ANSYS Mechanical TECS (License Type: TECS/Annual, Boulder, CO 350048) Based on NIST's recent market research, NIST has only identified the one source that can provide the required request ANSYS, Inc., in Canonsburg, PA. The Government anticipates the award of a fixed- price purchase order. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations; however, companies that believe they can fulfill the requirement may provide a written response to this notice and provide clear and unambiguous evidence to substantiate that capability. A determination by the Government whether to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competition.
