- The Regional Contracting Office “ Far East, Marine Corps Base, Camp Smedly D. Butler, hereby gives notice of intent to award a sole source purchase order to Lockheed Martin Logistic Services, Inc., 224 Terminal Road, Greenville, SC, 29605 (Cage Code:1FUD6) under authority of FAR 13.501(a). Market research has revealed this contractor is the only source capable of providing the unique or specialized nature of the work. The 1st Marine Air Wing, Marine Aircraft Group 36, MCAS Futenma, Okinawa Japan, has a requirement for a Contract Field Team (CFT) to perform organizational level aircraft maintenance, aircraft recovery services, and logistics support for the KC-130J/R aircraft for Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 152 (VMGR 152), & Aircraft Maintenance Officer (AMO). A determination by the Government has been made to award a bridge contract for three (3) months until the follow-on contract can be awarded. Lockheed Martin Logistic Services, Inc., is the incumbent for these services. This service is commercial in nature and will fall under the purview of commercial items in accordance with Subpart 13.5 “ Test Program for Certain Commercial Items of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all quotes received in a timely manner, fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis, will be considered as market research for the follow-on contract. Interested parties may identify their interest and unique capabilities to respond to this requirement or submit their quote. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement for the follow-on contract.
