- Description
- Subcontractor shall provide welding inspection and concrete testing services. The subcontractor's welding inspector shall possess an AWS certification. The weld procedure will be SMAW, and the weld inspector shal review the welder training/certification, shall witness a sampling of the welding processes, and shall perform a continuous visual inspection of the completed welding in accordance with 2007 CBC. The welding inspector shall communicate the inspection results to the SLAC Field Construction Manager/University Technical Representative. Any welds that are suspect shall be identified and the recommendation made as to the further NDE processes/rework required. The subcontractor shall furnish concrete test services in accordance with the American Concrete Institute (ACI) publication SP-2-2007 - Manual of Concrete Inspection and 311.4R-00 - Guide for Concrete Inspection. The subcontractor shall review the proposed concrete mix as submitted for the project. The subcontractor whall witness the preparations and placement of the concrete. The subcontractor shall witness the taking of concrete test cylinder(s) during the concrete pours, and shall prepare/cure the test cylinder(s). The subcontractor shall perform concrete strength testing in accordance with ACI 214 and provide a written report of the concrete strength test results.
