- Presolicitation Notice: Original Sources Sought Notice was issued under VA-256-10-RP-0325. Please note the new number is VA-256-11-RP-0006. This procurement will be issued as unrestricted/full and open through commercial acquisition procedures. The VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (VAGCVHCS) intends to award a firm-fixed price contract for the Homeless Transition Services for the Mobile, Alabama area. The contract is anticipated to be for a base period from 1/1/2011 to 9/30/2011 with four (4) one-year option periods. The contractor shall have experience and proven record of successfully working with residents recovering from co-morbid conditions such as serious mental illnesses, substance abuse disorders, and other serious medical conditions. The contractor shall assist with the provision of residential placement and supportive services through the Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) program. The primary goal is to develop alternative housing for the Veterans and to prepare them for independent living. It is the ultimate goal that these Veterans will eventually find their way to housing located within the community. To this end; the contractor/offeror must demonstrate ongoing capacity and resources to work with this population within a community setting. The NAICS for this is 623220, Residential Mental Health and Substance Abuse Facilities (size standard of $7.0 million). The solicitation will be issued on or around November 10, 2010. Potential offerors may obtain a copy of the solicitation VA-256-11-RP-0006 documents on-line at www.fedbizops.gov. It is the responsibility of the offerors to check the web site periodically for any amendments/notices to the solicitation.
