- The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intends to award a solesource order for Detention Spcace with the City of Crystal City Correctional Facillity, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). This synopsis is being published for informational purposes only. The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Laredo Sector U.S. Border Patrol has a requirement in fulfillment of their mission, to detain illegal aliens awaiting deportation proceedings. The detainees must be kept in the custody of an approved county or state jail facility meeting the requirements of the U.S. Marshal's Service. *The Government intends to solicit and negotiate directly with the City of Crystal City, Crystal City, TX. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities, list of supporting services, and quotation/estimate. The statement of capabilities must be submitted in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow the Government to determine if the party can perform the requirement. A determination to compete this action based on the responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government. All interested parties must express their interest and capabilities in writing via mail, facsimile, or email. Verifications of receipt of responses are the sole responsibility of the contractor. If no responsive statements are received by October 29, 2010 at 5:00 pm CDT, an award shall be made to City of Crystal City.
