- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for infectious and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD) Immunization Services Division has a requirement for the 2011 National Immunization Survey (NIS) and State and Local Area Integrated Telephone Survey (SLAITS). The NIS is a random digit dialing (RDD) telephone survey, with immunization provider record check (PRC) verification, established in response to the immediate and continuing need for quality and timely data pertaining to the immunization coverage of pre-school children across the United States. The NIS is used to collect immunization information for such children, and other age groups, to monitor the need for immunization in the civilian noninstitutionalized population in non-overlapping, geographically defined areas. SLAITS is a broad based ongoing surveillance system available at the state and local levels for tracking and monitoring the health and well-being of children and adults. SLAITS uses the same sampling frame as the NIS, and immediately follows the NIS in selected households. CDC intends to Modify existing contract 200-2005-10460 with National Opinion Research Center (NORC) of Chicago, IL to provide an additional twelve (12) months of services for 2011 NIS and SLAITS under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, One Responsible Source. CDC believes that NORC has unique expertise and infrastructure available to execute the immediate requirement because they are the only known vendor who could be prepared to begin full execution of the survey no later than 1 January 2011. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 541690, Other Scientific Technical and Consulting /services and the Small Business Size Standard is $7M. This is not a request for competitive proposals, nor is a solicitation available. Responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation which shall be considered by the agency to the email address below by 12 November 2010. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract will be based on responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the government.
