- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award on a sole source basis a contract to Carter2 Systems, Inc., of Beaverton, Oregon for one hundred sixteen (116) non-human primate cages. JKT Development, Inc., is hereby granted authority to act on behalf of CDC for purchase of caging. The authority for this sole source procurement is FAR Part 6.302-1 in that Carter2 Systems, Inc., is the only known source with the knowledge required to provide these services/supplies. A few of the characteristics for the caging is as follows: Caging must be stainless steel; one-over-one compartment socialization caging that can be attached to other one-over-one units to allow primates to be housed in social groups. Small enough grating and other openings to allow the housing of smaller New World Primates without the risk of escape. Socialization panels are self storing with the ability to be locked. Caging has two feed openings, one for a feed box and the other for forage board attachment that comes with this caging unit. Excreta pans can be flush pans, tilt metabolism pans, or pull pans for a wet system. Excreta pans can be easily removable to allow vertical socialization. Caging is legally compliant with both USA and European standards. This is not a request for competitive proposals. This is an all or none requirement. This is not a set-aside.
