- Potential parts to be acquired. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION PURSUANT TO FAR 15.201(e) BACKGROUND: The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Special Communication Requirements (SCR) Division is surveying the commercial vendor community for all interested parties in a proposed requirement to provide parts, supplies and equipment in support of rapid design, development, prototype, modification, integration, test and evaluation, installation, fielding, certification, maintenance, life cycle and logistics support of the SCR Division at NAWCAD, St. Inigoes, MD. The goal of this Request for Information (RFI) is to explore the response to aspects of the required parts, supplies and equipment of this new capability. Industry input is sought to assist in identifying processes and competition. Please note that the SCR Division will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties responding to this RFI. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. REQUIREMENTS: The primary objective is to ascertain the availability and responsiveness to requirements identified in the attached Sample Master Parts List (MPL) in support of SCR Division at NAWCAD, St. Inigoes, MD. TECHNICAL DISCUSSION: All interested Respondents should be able to respond to the attached Sample MPL identifying the following: 1. Lead time post requirement submittal per MPL item. 2. Recommended replacement parts due to obsolescence (as applicable) per MPL. 3. Recommended communication path to be utilized when situations occur requiring update/revision due to change in part number; lead time; shipping date; and/or availability. In response to this RFI, respondents are asked to submit written responses, preferably via electronic mail for evaluation. Written responses to this RFI should not exceed twenty (20) pages. However, you are reminded that the Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. Although this information is intended for future acquisition planning purposes, the SCR Division will not release any information about your approach that might in any way compromise your competitive posture or proprietary information. Nor, will the SCR Division use any information you provide us to level your approach relative to another competitor. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked PROPRIETARY will be handled accordingly. The Government will not be liable for or suffer any consequential damages for any proprietary information not properly identified. Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Government regulations. Responses to this RFI will not be returned.
