- The VA White River Junction Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to the authority at FAR 6.302-1 and FAR 6.302-2, for the Express LD Iliac premounted stent system, and the Express SD Renal Premounted stent system available only from Boston Scientific, 500 Commander Shea Blvd., Clency, MA 02171. The Express LD Stent System is the only pre-mounted balloon expandable stent approved for use in iliac arteries in the United States and the Express SD Renal Premounted stent system is the only FDA-approved renal stent designed to provide additional proximal end support. This notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet this requirement by contacting the Contracting Office no later than Friday, October 29, 2010, 4:30 p.m. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Kevin LaBrie at kevin.labrie@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. It is the Government's belief that at this time, only one source is capable of providing the Express LD Iliac premounted stent system, and the Express SD Renal Premounted stent systems. The VA White River Junction Healthcare System will consider any and all interest & capability statements received; however, the final determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement is solely within its discretion.
