- In accordance with the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) law, the Supply, Storage and Distribution (SS&D) mission at the Naval Shipyards is transferring to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) activity, Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC). At Puget, this mission, excluding procurement, transferred July 2009 to the newly established DLA Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (DLA PSNS & IMF). The procurement mission to acquire non-nuclear materials in support of PSNS & IMF will transfer to DLA PSNS & IMF on November 7, 2010. Procurement of all services and nuclear materials will remain with the Navy under the existing DODAAC of N00406 Fleet & Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Puget Sound. Transfer of the procurement mission at Norfolk Naval Shipyard has already occurred and will occur sometime next year for both Portsmouth and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyards. Solicitations and other notices issued by the newly established DLA PSNS & IMF Contracting Division will continue to be posted to NECO until later next year, at which time they will post to the DLA system, DIBBS. Vendors will be notified prior to this transition. The solicitation and contract numbers that will be used by DLA PSNS & IMF Contracting Division will begin with the activity DODAAC of SPMYM2 . Solicitations for materials issued prior to November 7, 2010 will automatically transfer to the new DLA PSNS & IMF Contracting Division and will be awarded using the contract number DODAAC identified above. Amendments will not be issued solely to change solicitation numbers. Transfer of administration on contracts awarded prior to November 7, 2010 will be determined on a case by case basis. A modification will be issued for all existing non-nuclear material contracts/orders if administration transfers to DLA PSNS & IMF Contracting Division.
