- Description
- Settlement and Shelter Advisor 1) Provide advice to the Office Chief as well as the Senior Urban Development Expert on the shelter and settlements portions of the Infrastructure and Shelter Office's portfolio; 2) Assist in the design, evaluation, implementation and oversight of shelter and settlements-related projects supported by the Office. This will likely include sites and services and permanent housing initiatives, community upgrading projects, provisioning of sustainable basic services, etc. 3) Liaise with key counterparts in the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC), the Presidential Bureau on Resettlement, local governments, community groups, the private sector and the broader NGO and donor community; 4) Provide senior leadership within the Mission and in Washington, D.C. with up-to-date and accurate reporting on progress in the sector in general, and performance of USAID infrastructure and shelter projects in particular; 5) Remain current on best practices in shelter and settlements projects in Haiti and other developing countries which could help inform USAID's own projects in this sector.
