- PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY OF PUBLIC LAW 109-461 (38 USC 8127) THIS SOLICITATION is 100% SET ASIDE FOR SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB). This is a pre-solicitation announcement for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Central Iowa Health Care System (VACIHCS) Des Moines, Iowa. The VACIHCS intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract to provide for snow and ice removal services to include but not limited to snow removal, hauling off site and deicing services. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, travel, equipment, tools, management and supervision necessary or incidental to ensure that snow/ice removal services are performed in a manner that will maintain and provide a satisfactory and safe environment. The services will be performed at the VA Central Iowa Health Care System located at 3600 30th Street, Des Moines, Iowa. It is anticipated that the Government will award this contract with a base year and four one year options to be exercised at the discretion of the government. All interested Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) firms must be registered as a small SDVOSB and current in all of the following sites: Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at http://www.bpn.gov/ccr/; VetBiz Vendor Information Pages at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/; Vets 100 at https://vets100.vets.dol.gov/ and On-Line Representations and Certifications at https://orca.bpn.gov/. The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard (NAICS) code is 561790, with a Small Business Size Standard of $7 million. The solicitation, Request for Proposal (RFP) Solicitation #VA-263-11-RP-0001 will be issued on or about November 4, 2010, with a closing date of receipt of quotes on or about December 6, 2010. This RFP will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities site (FedBizOpps) accessed via the internet at https://www.fbo.gov/. NO PAPER COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION AND/OR AMENDMENTS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED OR MAILED. It is the potential offeror's responsibility to monitor this avenue (FedBizOpps) for release of the solicitation and any subsequent amendments. By registering in the watch list and any other appropriate sections, you will be notified by e-mail of any new amendments that have been issued and posted. Bidders should re-visit the Website periodically to look for updates. SITE VISIT: A site visit will be scheduled and that information will be in the solicitation package.
