Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT to conduct market research for determinations required by various Federal Acquisition Regulations. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized and posted at FedBizOpps www.fbo.gov. The determination for this acquisition lies solely with the government based on this market research and the information available to the government from other sources. National Park Service, Alaska Region is conducting this market research to ascertain if there are businesses which can provide hybrid buses for testing and use in Denali National Park & Preserve, Denali Park AK 99755. The buses shall have an electric hybrid system utilizing both diesel engine and electric motor to power the vehicle. The system shall have a charge sustaining battery system and regenerative braking capabilities, requiring no electric plug in assist. The diesel engine shall be capable of powering the bus independently, should the hybrid electric system go offline. Additionally the bus shall have the following specifications and capabilities; 1) Seating capacity between 48 and 52, 2) Maximum Gross Vehicle Weight: 36,200 lbs, 3) Maximum turning radius shall be less than 42 ft., 6 inches 4) Approach Angle: 11 degrees, 5)Departure Angle: 10 degrees, 6) Break-over Angle: 7.5 degrees, 7) Maximum Width: 8 ft. (excluding mirrors), 8) Maximum wheelbase: 24 ft., 9)Maximum length: 42 ft.. Any bus purchased must be to Denali National Park no later than 1 May 2011. All interested businesses are encouraged to respond to this announcement no later than 3 November 2010, 4:30 PM AST, by registering as an interest vendor and submitting all requested documentation listed below to: National Park Service, Alaska Region, ATTN: via email, jordan_gunn@nps.gov. Interested parties should submit a capabilities package demonstrating the ability to perform work listed above. Packages should include the following information: (1) Business name and address, (2) a positive statement of your intention to submit an offer for this requirement, and (3) demonstration of the firm's experience within the past five years, by listing the actual projects completed, customer's contact name and phone number for a customer knowledgeable of the work completed. (4) A cut sheet of the vehicle to be provided. Packages should be no more than 7 pages long. Responsible sources having relevant experience and the capabilities to perform the work will be considered. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 423110, Automobile and Other Motor Vehicle Merchant Wholesalers
