- Description
- The Fleet Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Norfolk Contracting Department, Philadelphia Office intends to issue solicitation N00189-11-R-Z002 under NAICS Code 332439, FSC 8145 in support of Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP) for the design, engineering, manufacturing and testing of aluminum and/or plastic reusable shipping and storage containers. The prospective contractor(s) may be required to evaluate and/or propose on an order-by-order basis, advances in materials (aluminum, plastic, steel or non-metals), hardware and processes to avail the government of the latest technology. Additionally, on site visits to Navy and Marine Corps activities to conduct container feasibility studies may also be required. Interested vendors will be asked to submit cost and technical proposals, and the evaluation for contract award resulting from the forthcoming solicitation will consider technical proposals more important than cost. The proposed contract will have a one year base period and four, one-year options, not to exceed five years total. The contract requirement is estimated at a level of effort of 54,647 hours inclusive of all options. FISC Norfolk Contracting Dept., Philadelphia Office intends to issue the official solicitation on or around 01 November 2010. All responsible sources may submit a proposal that will be considered by the Navy. This procurement is established as a 100% small business set-aside with a size standard of 500 employees.
