- RECOVERY THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The NASA DrydenFlight Research Center (DFRC) issued Task Order NND09GH21T to the Northrop GrummanCorporation (NGC) under existing Contract NND08GH01B for Global Hawk Engineering andTechnical Services. This task order is wholly funded under the American Recovery andReinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 and as such is subject to all requirements imposed by thelegislation. Task Order NND09GH21T procures two Pod Attachment Assemblies for integration of theUninhabited Aerial Vehicle Synthetic Aperture Radar (UAVSAR) Pods. NASA DFRC isimplementing the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) and DFRC developed UAVSAR Pod for use onthe NASA Global Hawk aircraft. This effort shall utilize government furnished UAVSARinstruments that will be attached to new Pod Attachment Assembly and installed on eachwing of the aircraft. This Task covers the design and fabrication of two Pod AttachmentAssemblies for integration of the UAVSAR Pods and the related engineering analysis,modification of the aircraft, and other general integration-related support.The Global Hawk Engineering and Technical Support Contract NND08GH01B was awarded on anon-competitive basis. NGC is the only source available that has the engineering andtechnical expertise and knowledge in manufacturing, designing, and operating the GlobalHawk aircraft.As the manufacturer of the Global Hawk, NGC is the proprietary owner ofall the intellectual property for the Global Hawk and is uniquely familiar with theaircraft based on over 30,000 flight hours of experience.
