- Description
- A staff ride for the Commanding General, USAREUR/7A, is a senior leader training event of great complexity and will be conducted to high standards in technical, historical, administrative, and support areas. This staff ride program exists as a critical vehicle by which the CG, USAREUR/7A can train and mentor his senior military and civilian leaders using U.S. Army battles of the First and Second World Wars as a training vehicle. In addition, the CG, USAREUR/7A utilizes this periodic senior leader training event as a means by which he and the USAREUR/7A senior leaders can engage with fellow senior leaders from other American armed services and from foreign armies whose nations are very important in both the U.S. national and U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) engagement strategies. These staff rides will not focus on tactical operations but on the important strategic and operational issues (most notably joint and combined operations) which can be examined during the campaigns and battles reviewed on the staff ride.
