Description
NAICS Code: 541690 NAICS Code: 541690 and the Small Business Size Standard of $7 Million. This procurement will be made under FAR Part 13 provisions. This effort will support the US EPA/ORD/NERL Exposure Measurements and Analysis Branch. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to award a contract for the Human Exposure and Atmospheric Sciences Division within the National Exposure Research Laboratory. This division is currently in need of expertise in the evaluation and analysis of select children's consumer products known or suspected to contain nanosilver for the research study "Exposure Assessment of Silver Nanoparticles in Select Children's Consumer Products". The purpose of this contract is to provide the means for EPA to obtain and analyze select children's consumer products known or suspected to contain nanosilver (e.g., baby bottles, plush toys, pacifiers, etc.). The Contractor shall obtain children's consumer products, analyze and characterize these products for nanosilver, and determine if children would potentially be exposed to nanosilver during normal product use. This acquisition will be solicited for full and open competition. A fixed price purchase order is anticipated to result from the award of this solicitation. The resulting contract is expected to have a Period of Performance of twelve (12) months. The Period of Performance would begin approximately November, 2010. This solicitation and amendments will be available via the internet at the following URL: http://www.epa.gov/oam/rtp_cmd/index.htm. Firms must access the solicitation and amendments via the internet. Once you obtain a copy of the solicitation via the internet it will be your responsibility to frequently check the same site where the solicitation is posted for any amendments. All interested parties who believe they can provide the required analysis should fully explain their capabilities and qualifications in writing within 10 days from the date of this announcement including their DUNS (Data Universal Numbering System) number, referencing RFQ-RT-10-00249.
