Description

The U.S. Geological Survey intends to make a non-competitive award to JEOL USA, 11 Dearborn Road, Peabody, MA 01961-6043 for renewal of preventive maintenance for the JXA-8900 Scanning Microprobe and associated equipment to be delivered to 12201 Sunrise Valley Dr., Reston, and VA 20192 by October 01, 2010. There are no options associated with this order. JEOL USA, Inc. is the only known source for this requirement because they possess the proprietary software and instrument diagrams necessary for maintenance and repair of the microprobe. In accordance with FAR 5.207, all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency, however, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Government intents to award this requirement noncompetitively IAW FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). FAX response to 703.648.7367 or email to: csummers@usgs.gov. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 811219. The anticipated award date of the contract is 10/13/2009. A vendor must be registered at http://www.ccr.gov to be awarded the contract.
