Description
The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for DRYDOCK Repairs to the USCGC CIMARRON AND BARGE. The acquisition will be solicited as a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about October 18, 2010. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. The acquisition is for DRYDOCK REPAIRS of the USCGC CIMARRON. The CIMARRON homeport is the BUCHANAN. GEOGRAPHICAL RESTRICTIONS- To the Western Rivers of the United States. The western Rivers means the navigable portions of the Mississippi River and its tributaries above mile marker 0 of the lower Mississippi. Navigable tributaries of the Mississippi River include only the waterways, with the area of jurisdiction of Coast Guard Aids Navigation facilities as described in Light List Volume (COMDTINST M16502.5) and the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway to the mouth of the Mobile River, This includes protected portions of the Intra Coastal Waterway connected to the "Western Rivers" but specially excludes unprotected or open waters such as the Mobile Bay, Lake Bogue and the Gulf of Mexico. (Specific) - 01 Nov to 15 March, south of Melvin Price Lock and Dam. Anticipated start date on or about 20 February 2011 through 31 May 2011. The scope of the acquisition is to: Hull Plating, U/W Body, Inspect - Tender, Hull Plating, U/W Body, Inspect - Barge, Hull Plating (U/W Body), Ultrasonic Testing - Tender, Hull Plating (U/W Body), Ultrasonic Testing - Barge, Appendages (U/W), Leak Test - Tender, Appendages (U/W) - Internal, Preserve - Tender, Tanks (MP Fuel Service), Clean - Tender, Sea Strainers - Duplex (All Sizes), Overhaul, Spuds, Overhaul - Tender Spuds, Overhaul - Barge, Spud Wells, Preserve - Tender, Spud Wells, Preserve - Barge, Spud Winch Wire Rope, Renew - Tender, Spud Winch Wire Rope, Renew - Barge, Deck Fittings, Inspect - Tender, Deck Fittings (Barge), Inspect, Decks - Exterior (Barge Buoy), Preserve, U/W Body, Preserve ("100%") - Tender, U/W Body, Preserve ("100%") - Barge, Drydocking - Tender, Drydocking - Barge, Temporary Services, Provide, Dual Aft Spud System (Barge), Install, Main Engine and Shafting, Replace, Steering Gear and Rudder Systems, Upgrade, Boat Davit Winch, Shrink Wrap, Buoy and Cargo Handling Crane, Shrink Wrap, Potable Water System Valves and Piping (Barge), Renew and Tanks (Potable Water), Clean and Inspect.
