Description
Scope of Work: The work shall consist of what is shown on the plans, stated in the specifications, and summarized below: Road work: • Establish the traffic control signing and barricades at County Road 501 as required. • Coordinate work with affected utility companies. • Perform preliminary grading. • Construct the culverts at Jack Creek and at the future fire station. • Construct embankment and subgrade. • Construct asphalt pavement. • Install permanent traffic control (signing and striping). • Install new fences and gate. • Seeding and final site work. Bridge work: • Excavate for abutments and drilled shafts. • Install the drilled shafts while monitoring vibration at the existing spillway walls. • Construct the abutment beam seats and portions of the wingwalls as shown on the plans. • Construct the temporary pier and footing. • Erect the steel girders. • Place the concrete deck and end diaphragms. • Construct the remaining portions of abutments and wingwalls. • Remove the temporary pier after the deck has reached its design strength. The temporary footing may remain in place. • Install lean concrete backfill. • Construct the approach slabs. • Construct the bridge rails. • Construct the fences on the bridge. • Install the swale and the finish grading at the bridge. Project Location: The project is located approximately 22 miles east of Durango, Colorado at the Vallecito Reservoir in the San Juan National Forest. The work is on a new section of Forest Service Road # 603.
