- The National Park Service (NPS) issued a prospectus on September 21, 2010 soliciting proposals for a concession contract for overnight accomodations, food and beverage, retail, fuel and transportation services in Stehekin Valley on Lake Chelan, in Lake Chelan National Recreation Area. The Recreation Area is part of North Cascades National Park Service Complex, located in Washington State.Due to a number of inquries, another site visit will take place on October 22, 2010 from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm. Potential Offerors will have the opportunity to tour the Concession Facilities and view the current operations. For travel information and reservations, please contact Annelise Lesmeister, Concessions Specialist, North Cascades National Park at (509) 682-4921 no later than noon, Thursday, October 21, 2010. The prospectus is available on the NPS Concessions website at http://www.nps.gov/commercialservices/. If you are planning to submit a proposal and have obtained your prospectus from the website, please advise Isabel_Alvarado@nps.gov of your contact information in order to receive future responses to questions or amendments to the prospectus. Those who have been placed on the mailing list will be provided with any additional information specific to the prospectus in writing. The same information will also be posted to the above-mentioned website. A hard-copy prospectus is also available upon written request. To request a copy, please contact Isabel Alvarado, Concession Management Specialist, National Park Service, Pacific West Regional Office, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607, phone number (510) 817-1471 or at the above email, and include a street address (not post office box) and telephone number. Please include a $50.00 check or money addressed to the National Park Service. The prospectus was issued on September 21, 2010 under the terms described in the prospectus, with proposals due no later than 4:00 p.m. on January 19, 2011. Any proposal, including that of the existing concessioner, must be received by the Pacific West Regional Office, Attn: Isabel Alvarado, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607 by the deadline date in order to be evaluated and considered for award of the concession contract. Any questions regarding this business opportunity must be received in writing no later than November 9, 2010.
