Description

This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce On Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopses and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to issue solicitation number N0002411R4300 for the FY 11 Drydock Continuous Maintenance Availability (DCMAV) of the USS ALBANY (SSN 753). The DCMAV includes maintenance, repair, alterations, testing and routine work on a nuclear-powered submarine. It is anticipated that this will be a non-competitive procurement awarded to Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, Inc., a nuclear-qualified contractor, located at 4101 Washington Avenue in Newport News, Virginia (zip code 23607). Firms interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, Inc. directly. The DCMAV is scheduled to last approximately four months. The DCMAV will be performed in Northrop Grumman ™s Graving Dock located in the ship's homeport of Norfolk, Virginia. The solicitation will be issued and posted electronically on or about 1 November 2010 via Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) at https://www.neco.navy.mil and can be located by its solicitation number (N00024-11-R-4300) and downloaded. The tentative due date for receipt of proposals is 10 December 2010. See Numbered Note 22.
