- Draft Statement of Work The U.S. Department of Energy, Savannah River Operations Office, is conducting market research to identify businesses capable of providing two highly qualified individuals with extensive geotechnical engineering experience and one highly qualified individual with extensive engineering geology experience in the Southeastern United States to participate in the on-going expert participatory peer review of the Savannah River Site Soft Zone Research Program. This is a four year research program funded by the Department of Energy and is being conducted by the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA which started in September 2008, and is scheduled to be complete in December 2012. The participatory peer review of this research program is expected to provide the Department of Energy with an expert peer review of the research to ensure a defensible and sound path regarding the research activities associated with the research program and the implications upon Department of Energy nuclear facility design. The Expression of Interest must include a Statement of Qualifications, including the following information: • Name and address of firm • DUNS number • Valid Central Contractor Registration (https://www.bpn.gov/ccr/) • Point of Contact (name, telephone number and e-mail address) • Relevant experience of the firm and individuals • Description of similar contracts completed within the last three years Expressions of Interest must not exceed 10 pages and must be submitted electronically no later than Tuesday, October 19, 2010, 5:00 pm EDT to Marcia Fultz at Marcia.Fultz@srs.gov. The government will not reimburse sources for any cost associated with responding to this notice. Included in this Notice is a draft statement of work for review and comment is not intended to be all-inclusive. Please note the acquisition strategy for this procurement has not been finalized and is subject to change based on the responses from the Sources Sought notice and that receipt of this information does not commit the government to issue a solicitation or make an award.
