- The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Staley Communications, 3229 Spruce Way, Pittsburgh, PA 15201, for one-year of monthly maintenance and repair services for Motorola Radios and Infrastructure Equipment (See list below), in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, since the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System currently has this equipment that require maintenance and repairs to be provided by a Certified Motorola Service Provider, since the Agency requires a technician that has received exclusive specialized training by Motorola resulting in a Training Certification, and since Motorola does not provide the same access to documentation and training to non-service providers, and since Staley Communications is Motorola's exclusive service provider in the Pittsburgh, PA area, for the same radios and infrastructure equipment that the VA has. Equipment requiring maintenance and repair services: 9 Motorola Wireless Radios Quantar Receivers 6 Quantar Base Stations 3 Digitac Comparators 1 Astrotac Comparator 1 DIU 5 XTL5000 Mobiles 11 CDM750 Mobiles 3 Removals and Installation of Remote Mount Mobile Radios 12 MC2500 Remotes 1 Astro Spectra Consollette 82 XTS5000 Portables 237 MT2000 Portables 4 Quantar Base Stations 6 HT1250 Poertables This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest; accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than October 6, 2010 C.O.B. Responses should be sent to ronald.mazzei@va.gov or faxed to Ronald Mazzei at (412) 954-4059. No telephone responses will be accepted. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 811213 and the small business size standard is $7 Million.
