- PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The scope of this contract is to provide trail improvements to the Town Creek OHV Trail. The improvements consist of constructing two 100-ft boardwalks and hardening the trail turnpike at 16 other 50-ft locations along the trail. Boardwalk construction shall use a helical pile foundation system and shall be 6 ft wide. Type-A trail hardening for three 50-ft locations includes surge stone, landscape fabric, precast concrete pavers and a GABC surface contained using pressure treated 6"x6" timbers. Type-B trail hardening for two 50-ft locations includes precast concrete pavers and a GABC surface contained using pressure treated 6"x6" timbers. Type-C trail hardening for eleven 50-ft locations includes reshaping and draining the area, compacting the base soil material and placing a GABC surface. SITE SHOWING: A site showing will be conducted; tenatively scheduled for November 3, 2010. Exact information will be included in the solicitation. PROJECT LOCATION: The project is located on the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, Oconee Ranger District, Greene County, Georgia. The site is located approximately 7-10 miles from Greensboro, Georgia and I-20. ESTIMATE COST RANGE: between $25,000 and $100,000. This acquisition is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB).
