Description
This announcement is a notice of intent to extend an existing contract on a sole source basis to Canon U.S.A., 2110 Washington Boulevard Suite 300, Arlington, VA 22204-5710, for the Copier Maintenance Services contract at Fort Hood, Texas. The proposed contract action will extend the performance period of the contract W91151-08-F-0001 by six months under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements, 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Estimated dollar value of this action is $800,000.00, for the period of performance: 1 October 2010 through 1 March 2011. The Government intent is to extend the current services with Canon in order for Fort Hood to continue using the copiers while they are being transitioned off of Fort Hood as new awards are made. Fort Hoods methodology for this transition will serve as the 7th Signal Commands test bed for decentralization of copier services to end users. The results of the project will serve as the basis for 7th Signal Command policy for decentralization of copier services CONUS-wide. Multiple Call Orders against Blanket Purchase Agreements will be funded as requirements occur. Since the copiers remain on the installation and must be removed within this next six months, there is no possibility that other contractors can meet the current requirement for use of these copiers until their removal. Comments should be submitted to the contracting office by email to: joe.pollard1@us.army.mil, no later than 1 October 2010 at 1200 CST. Questions submitted by other methods will not be evaluated. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 532420. There is no associated small business size standard. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
