- The purpose of this special notice is to look for sources. The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Region Seven (7), Alaska has a need for a firm-fixed price purchase of services to provide high resolution LiDAR Mapping for the Fairbanks North Star Borough. Period of performance is from date of award through September 30, 2011. JOB DESCRIPTION:The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service wishes to obtain high resolution LiDAR data for a large portion of the populated area within the Fairbanks North Star Borough. This data will provide high resolution DEMs which can be used to map floodplains, wetlands and other habitats delineated by elevation or with the aid of elevation. The data and resulting models will allow the Service to identify important habitats (notably floodplains). This will allow Service biologists to better guide and advise the increasing number of development projects in the Fairbanks area. We propose to purchase this data, the resulting digital elevation models (DEMs), geodatabase, and metadata.
