- Description
- NASA/JSC intends to contract with S. P. Korolev Rocket and Space CorporationEnergia to procure twenty (20) EDVs (liquid waste containers) with urine-ratedhydroconnectors to be delivered in 2011 and 2012. These EDVs are part of the UrineProcessing Assembly (UPA)/Water Processing Assembly (WPA) system and are associated withthe conversion of waste water and urine into potable water. The EDVs with the urine-rated hydroconnectors are certified to a new configuration. Thenew configuration takes the existing urine rated hydro connector (p/n 08036-006) anduses this connector in place of the water rated hydro connector for the EDV.This configuration is certified for use on International Space Station (ISS) with acertified storage life of one year. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.See Note26.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon October 12, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
