- Description
- The Government intends to enter into a firm-fixed-price purchase order with Barloworld Handling LLC, 5191 Snapfinger Woods Drive, Decatur, Georgia 30035-0160. The Directorate of Contracting (DOC), Fort Campbell, KY, has a requirement to purchase leased equipment (reach stackers). The procurement will be conducted on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b) Only one source reasonably available. The basis for restricting competition is that the equipment currently being leased from Barloworld Handling is already delivered and on-site at Fort Campbell and is being used to support deployment and redeployment requirements. Equipment must be available without delay or interruption or the installation will not be able to perform its mission. Purchase of this leased equipment will prevent an unacceptable delay in delivery/availability of the equipment. NAICS code for this procurement is 333924 and the small business size standard is 750 employees. This sole source requirement will be procured under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition, and awarded on an unrestricted basis. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE OFFERS and solicitation will not be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 10 days from the date of the publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion for the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Barloworld Handling LLP. Responses are due by 27 September 2010, 1:00 P.M. (CST).
