- Description
- The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS) intends to award on a sole source basis a requirement for Foregin Patent Filing Prosecution to Akerman Senterfitt located in Orlando, FL, for the period of October 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010. ARS requires services to docket, file and prosecute foreign patent applications for existing foreign cases. Akerman is the only source that can complete the required work given the complexity, deadlines already docketed and started, and the knowledge needed of individual situations pertaining to the deadlines in question. Akerman has already been in communication with the foreign associates about some of these actions and has an established network of foreign associates currently working on the cases in USDA's docket. Akerman is the sole attorney of record for the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applications currently filed. Another contractor would have to be designated attorney of record before being able to complete all the Government's requirements for this purchase order. Akerman has current possession of the files pertaining to foreign filing applications in USDA's docket, and it would not be possible for another contractor to accomplish these deadlines without possession of the files. Anticipated Date of Award: September 30, 2010
