- Description
- Expeditionary Water Packaging System (EWPS). The EWPS is a commercial, self contained, fully integrated, ISO configured water packaging system. It is capable of producing 5,000 one-liter bottles of water per day per system and meets requirements for providing packaged water in remote areas of the AOR. The proposed action is to add a priced option to the existing sole source contract for twelve additional months (Year 2) of contractor in-theater support services, support equipment maintenance, and consumable supplies and materials. The total estimated cost for Year 2 is $14.8 million. This estimate includes $9.9 million for contractor in-theater support services and $4.9 million for support equipment, consumable supplies, and materials. Supplies include pallets, tier sheets, and sanitary/cleaning/water test supplies, bottle pre-forms, caps, labels, banding, and shrink wrap material. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(iii)(B). The contractor is DRS Sustainment Systems, Inc., St. Louis, MO. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated award date to incorporate the priced option is 14 October 2010. The EWPS is not a program of record and does not have an assigned NSN. Point of Contact: Katherine M.
