- RECOVERY - This notice is to publicize the increase in Option 2 (CLIN 0003)on Contract SB1341-09-CN-0099 (Acceleration of Smart Grid Interoperability Standards and Harmonization) with the EnerNex Corporation. In accordance with the requirements of FAR Subpart 5.705, publicizing post award, the required services for this option period are for the contractor to provide services to accelerate Smart Grid (SG) interoperability standards and harmonization under Title XIII, Section 1305 of the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) of 2007. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) under the Department of Commerce (DOC) has primary responsibility to coordinate development of a framework that includes protocols and model standards for information management to achieve interoperability of SG devices and systems. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provided funding through the Department of Energy to implement Section 1301 of EISA. NIST intends to use a portion of these funds to accelerate the development of the interoperability framework and model standards. The project has grown larger than anticipated as the original estimates were based on a Smart Grid Interoperability Panel with a membership of 300; as of July 15, 2010, there are over 1600 members This modification M009 to Contract SB1341-09-CN-0099 with EnerNex Corporation represents a portion of that effort. This is a time and materials contract and was awarded through full and open competition.
