- This synopsis is to announce award of contract FA7000-10-C-0037 to Frasca International, Inc. on a sole-source basis under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1); see FAR 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This award resulted from request for proposal FA7000-10-R-0057, Flight Simulators. The following information is provided in accordance with FAR 5.207(a). Airport Rd. Urbana, IL 61802-7375 (12) Description - The following is a brief description of the work requirements for this contract: This acquisition is for the purchase of four (4) Frasca Flight Simulators. Currently, the USAF Academy has a total of eight Flight Simulators which were purchased from Frasca International, Inc. under competitively awarded contract F05611-02-D-0006. The four flight simulators in this requirement will be identical to the eight existing flight simulators and will allow the 50th Education Squadron to have a full complement of twelve simulators, capable of training 24 cadets simultaneously. The simulators are modeled after the USAF T-6 Texan II Trainer. The 50th Education Squadron Air Warfare Laboratory utilizes these simulators to support all Academy courses as needed to include airmanship, aeronautics, and physics as well as many others. Additionally, the program is used as a leadership laboratory to allow cadets to learn how to use the simulators and then teach other cadets.
