- Notice of Intent to Sole Source Department of Justice, United States Marshals Service Medical Services (Physician's Assistant) for the Witness Security Division (WSD) The United States Marshals Service (USMS) intends to award a sole source (firm-fixed price) task order under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements, and 18 USC 3521 (b) (1) to ensure the integrity of the WSD and will help to maintain the security of protective witnesses. Upon the basis of the following determination & findings, it is necessary to provide for other than full and open competition in the contract action described below. It is anticipated that this task order will be for one base year and four, one-year option periods. The estimated value of this procurement is approximately $ 180,000.00 per year. The base period of performance will commence on October 1, 2010. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTATION (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Interested parties may identify their interests and capability no later than 12:00 PM, Friday September 24, 2010. Responses to this posting must be in writing and submitted to Patrick Keefe by email, Patrick.Keefe@usdoj.gov A determination not to compete this award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All questions should be directed to Patrick Keefe via e-mail on or before 5:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, September 23, 2010. Background The WSD has a need to contract for the medical services of a Physician's Assistant (PA) to augment the medical staff at the Safe Site and Orientation Center (SSOC) located in the Capital Region of the WSD. The SSOC is a secure facility and safe site within the WSD. The PA vendor will be required to work at the SSOC medical clinic. The PA must have a Top Secret Clearance.
