- Description
- The Government intends to enter into a firm-fixed-price contract with Handling Systems Inc. 106 Park South Court, Nashville, TN, 37210-4823. The Directorate of Contracting (DOC), Fort Campbell, KY, has a requirement for Phase Bay Shelving and Material Handling Equipment for Aircraft equipment and components. (See (2) attachments Sole Sourse J&A and Parts List) The procurement will be conducted on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 13.5. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The basis for restricting competition is that Handling Systems Inc., is the sole developer and provider of the current material handling systems located in the Phase Bay Langraf and Anderson hangers. NAICS code for this procurement is 333999 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. This sole source requirement will be procured under Simplified Acquisition Procedures using Other Than Full and Open Competition, and awarded on an unrestricted basis. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE OFFERS and solicitation will not be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 7 days from the date of the publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion for the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Handling Systems Inc.. Responses are due by 22 September 2010, 2:00 P.M. (CT).
