- Concerns having the ability to furnish the services described herein are requested to give written notification (including the telephone number for a point of contact) to the procuring office above within 5 calendar days from the date of this synopsis. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), CGGSC, Denver, CO, has a requirement for development of a new 'line iterator' gx (Geosoft eXecutable) module for the Geosoft Oasis Montaj proprietary software that would add the ability to easily change all map and sectional views from one data line to another without having to create new maps. The requirements: 1. Activated from within Geosoft Oasis Montaj as an integrated core component, a map template that allows for multiple geophysical sections (including profiles) representing different geophysical parameters to be displayed for a single line of data. 2. Activated from with Geosoft Oasis Montaj as an integrated core component, with 1. above activated, allow the user to easily switch between lines of data with the multiple geophysical sections repopulated in the same existing map with the data from the new line(s). 3. Activated from within Geosoft Oasis Montaj as a integrated core component, to execute 2.above, the user shall be able to either click on the line within an open Geosoft GDB or on a line within a plan view map with line cursor- linking activated to activate a new data map view. 4. Activated from within Geosoft Oasis Montaj as an integrated core component, as 2 and 3 are executed, the individual section views shall automatically resize to fit the new data. 5. Activated from within Geosoft Oasis Montaj as an integrated core component, allow the user to save the multiple map views either individually or en masse with the view parameters set as determined in 1 - 4 above. 6. Delivery of software modules by January 31, 2011. 7. Annual maintenance of software at no cost to USGS. 8. Technical support by e-mail. 9. New software module shall be tested prior to each upgrade/release of Oasis Montaj to ensure that the new integrating software shall continue to function. 10. Repair of significant bugs identified by USGS personnel that prevent use of the software modules as intended is required. With one year annual maintenance. Based on information available at this time, the Government considers the specified services as a sole source procurement from Geosoft, Inc, Queens Quay East Toronto, Canada, as this is Geosofts proprietary software, and proposes to negotiate a contract with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required supplies and services are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration. THIS ANNOUCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY; NO FORMAL RFQ WILL BE AVAILABLE. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
