Description
RECOVERY ACTION. FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. This action is incorporates Work Authorization LLNL-10-FEW0181 Rev 0, funded with Recovery Act dollars into the referenced Management and Operating (M&O) contract DE-AC52-07NA27344 (Contractor DUNS Number 785627931). Lawrence Livermore National Security (LLNS), LLC will execute the project entitled Experimental and Model Study to Determine CO2 Leakage Rates in the Wellbore Environment Long-Term as defined in (i) the work described in this Work Authorization and (ii) the work described in field work proposal 0181. The work described in this Work Authorization is to perform an experimental and model study of wellbore integrity for long-term CO2 storage under three tasks: (1) an experimental study of fracture growth and sealing within the wellbore environment over pressure and temperature ranges relevant to long-term CO2 storage, (2) development of tightly coupled geochemical and geomechanical model to describe the fracture growth and sealing within the wellbore environment in response to pressure and chemical changes that will occur during long-term CO2 storage, and (3) calculation of CO2 leakage rates in the wellbore environment as a function of pressure and dissolved CO2 history. In accordance with FAR 5.705(b), the work authorization incorporated into the prime contract is priced as an "Other than Fixed Price" action because (i) LLNS manages and operates this Federally Funded Research and Development Center under a cost-reimbursement type M&O contract; (ii) all costs are to be fully recovered as required by departmental policy and contract terms; and (iii) this work scope is for research and development. NOTE: This action is awarded under Modification no. 181, that recognizes Work Authorization no. LLNL-10-FEW0181 Rev 0 issued under Management and Operating Contract number DE-AC52-07NA27344. This action is funded by Recovery Act dollars. The contractor will be working at the Department of Energy's Federally Funded Research and Development Center, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Place of Contract Performance: Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory 7000 East Avenue Livermore, CA 94550 Contracting Point of Contact(s): Ronna Promani Contracting Office Address: U.S. Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration Livermore Site Office 7000 East Ave L-293 Livermore, CA 94550
