- State Of Work CATHOLIC/PROTESTANT SUNDAY ACCOMPANIST SCOPE: The contractor shall perform the services of Catholic/Protestant accompanist at the Naval Submarine Base Chapel, Kings Bay, GA. The requirements for this service are as follows: NOTE: Each meeting or session equates to one each as specified above for payment purposes. 1. ITEM 0001 “ CATHOLIC/PROTESTANT CHAPEL ACCOMPANIST - The Catholic/Protestant accompanist is responsible for providing appropriate musical accompaniment for Chapel programs, including congregational singing, choir specials, special music solos. Also, the contractor shall be responsible for providing postlude, prelude and offertory music at scheduled Chapel services. Accompanist must be available to attend choir rehearsals as required. The Chapel programs includes the following sessions: a.Fifty-two (52) Choir Rehearsals b.Fifty-two (52) Protestant Choir rehearsals c.Fifty-two (52) Catholic Sunday Services d.Fifty-two (52) Protestant Sunday Services e. Four (4) Memorial Services as requested f. Ten (10) other religious services as requested. g. One (1) service each for the followings observances: Feast of St. Francis All Saints Day Feast of the Immaculate Conception Christmas Eve Mass Christmas Midnight Mass Solemnity of Mary Vigil Ash Wednesday Holy Thursday Good Friday Ascension Thursday Confirmation Feast of Assumption Hanging of the Greens Protestant Christmas Eve Service Protestant Christmas Morning Service 2.1DUTIES - The Catholic/Protestant Chapel accompanist shall: a. Serve as a professional resource person to Chaplains and choir director. b. Work in conjunction with Chaplains to bring innovative means of worship before the congregation. c. Be sensitive to the musical interests of the respective faith groups and will provide music to reflect those needs. d. Work under the guidance of the choir director and the command chaplain. e. Assist in conducting Catholic adult choir rehearsal one (1) hour per week. f. Assist in conducting Protestant adult choir rehearsal one (1) hour per week. h. Participate in Sunday Mass scheduled at 0900 Sunday mornings for minimum of one (1) hour. i. Participate in Protestant Sunday Service scheduled at 1030 Sunday mornings for a minimum of one (1) hour per week. 2.2 Qualification Requirements - The Catholic/Protestant Chapel Accompanist shall: a. Prefer individual with organ or piano experience will also consider guitar. b. Applicant must have served for a minimum of four (4) years as an accompanist in a religious facility. Accompanist must be experienced and proficient in playing various types of religious music, including but not limited to traditional hymns, contemporary and gospel music. c. Have the ability to accompany soloists and provide musicals/recitals as requested by the choir director. 3.Contractor shall be responsible to provide a suitable substitute of comparable ability in the event the contractor is unable to provide contracted services. The contractor shall pay substitute. 4.Necessary working supplies, order of new music, meeting spaces, and equipment required to perform the contract will be provided by the Chapel.
