- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Battle Creek VA Medical Center 5500 Armstrong Road, Battle Creek, Michigan, 49037 anticipates soliciting bids and consequently awarding a contract for the construction project known as "Replace Primary Switchgear B141." The solicitation will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 (SEALED BIDDING) and Part 36 (CONSTRUCTION) and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures therein. The solicitation will be advertised as a Total Set-Aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, supplies, travel, etc. to perform all work under this project which consists of: Provide all services, labor, materials and equipment for Replace Primary Switchgear B141 at the VA Medical Center, Battle Creek, Michigan as described by the drawings and specifications. This project will replace the existing main switchgear for incoming primary power to the medical center. The construction shall include but not be limited to: "Demolition of existing switchgear and two associated buildings along with fencing and concrete "Installation of new switchgear and controls to connect the incoming power with the existing Veterans Administration power grid "Installation of flat work and cabling to allow for future connection to dedicated standby power generators "Any system control component hardware and/or software required to run the switchgear "Landscaping necessary to restore the site "Connection to the Veterans Administration fire alarm system The period of performance is 180 calendar days for the entire project. Magnitude of construction is expected to be between $250,000 and $500,000. NAICS Code for this acquisition is 238210 Electrical Contractors and other Wiring Installation Contractors. The solicitation documents including specifications and drawings will be issued on or about 7-23-2010 and will be posted on Federal Business Opportunities. This date is subject to change. Hard copy documents including drawings will not be available - all documents for bidding purposes will be posted at this website for download. Site visit information will be provided upon issuance of solicitation. Only one site visit is planned. Bids will be due 30 days after issuance of solicitation. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for submission of offers. The Government is not obligated to issue a solicitation as a result of this notice. No other information is available until issuance of the solicitation. No bidder list is maintained.
