- The Department of Veterans Affairs VA, VISN 15 Heartland Network consisting of nine (9) Medical Center sites intends to award a Firm Fixed Price single or multiple, Indefinite Quantity, Indefinite Delivery Service Contract to a qualified firm with the capability and capacity to provide regulated medical waste disposal services. Contractor shall furnish all personnel, materials, tools and equipment necessary to provide removal, transportation and disposal of all regulated medical waste and to comply with all current local, state and federal regulations. Regulated medical waste consists of isolation waste, cultures and stocks of infectious agents and associated biological human blood and blood products, pathological waste, contaminated sharps, miscellaneous laboratory waste, discarded dressings, and contaminated linen or disposable linen substitutes. Contractor shall transport regulated medical waste from the VISN 15 Medical Centers and the Community Based Outpatient Clinics to the vendor ™s central accumulation area for disposal on a weekly, monthly and bi-monthly basis. Provide annual employee training porgram in accordance with the contract Statement of Work (SOW). The services will be provided in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations. The contract will include a base year and two (2) renewable option years. Contract period will begin October 1, 2010 or date of award thru September 30, 2011 to be determined based upon award date, in accordance with the terms and conditions defined herein. The locations also include the facility Community Based Outpatient Clinics with points of contacts listed in the SOW. Normal working hours are 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday thru Friday or as listed in the SOW.There will be only one pre-award site visit scheduled for this project held at each VAMC. Interested offerors should call the Facility POC listed in the solicitation to obtain information on the project before submitting a proposal. The Facility point of contact numbers will be posted with the solicitation document. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 562111. The Standard Industrial Classification is F108. The small business size standard is $12.5M. The solicitation will be posted on or about 15 September 2010.
