- The Repair Primary Electrical Distribution System Phase 6 project will replaceDryden Flight Research Center's main electrical distribution system (Substation #16) andupgrade the electrical control systems in the Central Generator Plant.This substationis critical to the operation of the entire Dryden campus. The physical area involved inthis action is a portion of the existing Sub #16 footprint, the area immediately betweenthe northeast portion of Sub #16 and Parking Lot #3, and the switchgear and controlsystems in the Central Generator Plant. Work includes: 1) Construction of a newbuilding for the switchgear assemblies with basement stairs, rollup door, lighting andHVAC, 2) Provision and installation of new transformers, automatic tap changers, new 35KVvacuum interrupter switches, and 3) Provision and installation of new 12KV switchgearassemblies with tie switch including cabinets with drawer compartments with minimum of(2EA) spare C/Bs and (2EA) spaces. Also included is the provision and integration of anew central processing unit, software, and electronic component upgrades to existingCummins generators and power distribution system controls in Drydens central powerplant.This procurement is a total HUBZone small business set-aside.
