- The National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to participate in the sponsorship of the 2011 American Association for Advancement of Science (AAAS) Meeting on a sole source basis. The meeting will be held in Washington, DC on February 17-21, 2011. The AAAS is the largest interdisciplinary scientific and engineering society in America, with almost 140,000 members worldwide and more than 280 affiliated societies. Each year, the meeting attracts the national and international press. The meeting encompasses virtually all areas of science and technology. Under the order, AAAS will organize 3 workshops, provide tote bags, the exhibition package and NSF will be able to participate in the media luncheon. The proposed contract action is for services for which the government intends to sponsor with only one source under the authority of FAR 12.106. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. This synopsis is for information purposes only.
