Description
Notice of Intent: The Bureau of Reclamation intends to award to Evonik Degussa Corporation, a purchase order for the chemical TMT-55 for use in sludge stabilization at the Leadville Mine Drainage Tunnel Processing Plant in Leadville CO. Reclamation has found that Evonik is the only source of the chemical readily available which matches the product that will successfully ensure that the discharged sludge is no longer hazardous to people and the environment. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Since the government believes that only one responsible source can provide the product that will satisfy the agency's requirements, a Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition has been prepared and approved by the Great Plains Regional Office, Chief of Contracting. The Government intends to award this requirement on or about Oct 1, 2010, however, all dates in this announcement are subject to change. Firms that recognize and can provide the required work described above are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. All responses received before the anticipated award date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses should include the firm's Dun and Bradstreet (DUNS) number and Tax Identification Number (TIN). Firms should identify themselves as either small business or other than small business, in accordance with the size standard of 100 employees under the North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code of 424690.
