Description
The Defense Logistics Agency Contracting Services Office has a brand name requirement for Honeywell 4800i Handheld Barcode Scanners. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) SP4707-10-Q-0112. Place of performance is Battle Creek, Michigan. Inspection, acceptance and F.O.B. are at destination, Battle Creek, Michigan. The single evaluation factor for award is lowest-price, technically acceptable. The resulting contract or order will be firm-fixed price. Only NEW equipment is being solicited. Remanufactured or refurbished equipment, as defined in FAR 11.001, is technically unacceptable. Trade-in or exchange of old equipment is not available. Offerors shall provide a price for each contract line item number (CLIN) in their quote. Offers with quantities of less than requested or products other than those requested will be deemed technically unacceptable. This is a brand name only requirement. Questions and Answers 1. QUESTION Do these 4800ISR's need to be loaded with the MH10 Character substitution which is frequently used with the DLA DSS system? The following has been previously included with other Solicitations: Must provide the following dynamic character substitutions of MH10 format characters in PDF417 and DATA MATRIX symbologies. The purpose of the conversion is to enable the successful transmission of MH10 characters embedded in a PDF417 and possibly DATA MATRIX 2 dimensional barcode transit an IBM mainframe network without any alteration or program changes. No other character conversions or alterations are acceptable. Current MH10 Character (ASCII) Hexadecimal Value Is Converted to: Hexadecimal Value GS 1D ‘ 60 RS 1E | 7C EOT 04 ^ 94 5B [ ~ 7E ANSWER Yes, the imager must be programmed at the factory or before delivery to meet the requirements that are listed above. No other interface development, programming, tuning, configuring, adjusting with any software should be required. A scan sheet or similar simple mechanism resetting the imager to the DLA default configuration should be included. 2. QUESTION Part number 4800ISR051C-0F00E comes with a 6 foot straight USB cable. Normally the DLA has required a 12 foot coiled USB cable(specifically PN 42206202) to be included with the scanners? Which cable is to be supplied per this RFQ?
